Bereavement is an extremely difficult time, and although we all go through roughly the same stages, the pace can be very different. Maggie never expected to lose her husband and become a widow at age 52. She found it hard to think about tomorrow, and to distract herself, she decided to get a makeover.
She lacked self-confidence, avoided the stares of others and wanted to truly change. So in 2019, she decided to turn to world-renowned stylist Christopher Hopkins, often better known as “The Makeup Guy.”
For several years, he’s been making Youtube videos where he uses haircuts and light makeup to bring out people’s best features and give them back their confidence when they leave the barbershop. In the video below, 52-year-old Maggie got her turn to sit in Christopher’s chair, and it was all very emotional for the widow.
Maggie couldn’t hold back tears as she began to talk about her life. She talked about her husband, who worked as a police officer. But on the eve of his retirement, he tragically passed away.It had happened several years ago, and she was still very much suffering from it. But now she wanted to move on with her life, and getting into Christopher’s hands was the first step toward recovery.
Although she still missed her dead husband, she was ready to start a new chapter in her life, and the change felt great.
