Children are usually shy. They can sing alone, and at parties they can sing in front of other people. But Drake Grillo was no ordinary kid.
He agreed to sing in front of a crowd of thousands at a recent women’s basketball game in Syracuse. He sang their national anthem. Even though he was only three years old, the little guy amazed everyone. He started singing to the crowd with a big microphone in his hand.
Most people in the United States don’t even know all the words to the national anthem, let alone three-year-olds. When the child finished singing, the audience stood up and started clapping. Then members of the basketball team came to congratulate him.
They raised their fists and punched the child to show their appreciation for his voice and performance.
The child’s mother said the child was too young to understand what he was doing, so the family tried to calm him down. Not only does the child sing, he loves it, he also loves to play sports. The Star Spangled Banner has always been his favorite song.
