Despite our age, we will always be our parents’ children, and they will always feel responsible for us, and we for them.
Parents are always proud of their children’s accomplishments, their strength, and nothing can change that. They will always be who they are because they are just parents.
But all parents know that raising a child is not the easiest thing in their lives. It gets harder when children reach puberty, as children become more inhibited, social pressures increase, and exposure to the outside world changes their outlook.
Raising a teenager is quite a difficult job. A father once witnessed this tension himself when he discovered a letter written to him by his daughter. At the time, he was furious about losing his favorite soccer team and wanted to take a walk outside with his daughter, Anna, to cheer himself up.
But Anna was nowhere to be found, he hadn’t seen her, and he didn’t know how she got out of the house, so he began to panic.
Then he noticed on his bed a letter written by her. In the letter, the girl wrote that she had decided to run away with her new boyfriend because she realized she had found her true love.
She wrote that she really liked his bike, his style, his tattoos, piercings and scars, and that he was totally different, not like everyone else! And that’s not all! She wrote that she was pregnant by him and that she was already three months pregnant. She decided to move in with him because her boyfriend said he wanted kids.
The teenager was just thrilled with him! It also turned out that he had bought them plane tickets to Cyprus and their wedding was next week!
She wrote that they were growing seeds in their yard and getting money or medicine in return.
She said her boyfriend had herpes and wrote that they would definitely find a cure for herpes so that Dima would get better. She wrote not to worry about money, because soon she will be doing commercials and can make $300 every day or more! She also wrote that she is now 16 years old and can stand up for herself.
She even promised to give them to her grandson in a few months when she has a baby. And at the end she wrote that she loved them.
And at the very end of the letter she wrote the following:
PS: Daddy, don’t worry, none of this is true. I was just at my friend Ellie’s house to watch a movie together. I just wanted to remind you that losing the Patriots to the Eagles is not the worst thing that could happen to you!
