When this man rushed to rescue a wild animal, he hardly thought a bear could tear him apart.
Wild animals are not your pet cats and dogs, sometimes they can be very dangerous, especially if he gets into an unaccustomed environment.
In 2014, a wild bear wandered into a residential property in Florida, situations like this happen often, and while usually the bear would run away at the sight of a person, this time it was different, the bear kept wandering around the yard looking for food and wouldn’t even leave.
The family called an animal trapping service, but no matter how the men tried to drive the wild animal away, the bear did not respond, it was very hungry. It was then that the rescuers made a decision, which subsequently led to this tragic situation.
They decided to shoot the bear with a tranquilizer dart, to put it to sleep, but something went wrong. The bear, struck by the tranquilizer, ran towards the water, did not stop and began to swim.
The rescuers watched this and just did not understand what to do next and why the sleeping pills did not work? Actually, it worked only when the bear was far from the shore, but not immediately. The animal’s paws began to fail and the bear began to sink.
The situation was critical, a couple of minutes more and the bear would drown. One of the crew knew exactly what to do and the next second he threw himself in the water and swam towards the bear.
A 180 kilogram frightened bear moaning in the middle of a body of water, who among the normal people would be able to approach him? The man grabbed the bear’s head and began to hold it above the surface of the water, the bear’s hind paws failed completely, he waved his forelegs vigorously and kept trying to get on the man’s head.
After a couple of minutes other rescuers on a boat came to them and tried to pull the bear out with a rope, but it was very heavy.
Then the man decided to pull it to shore on his own, by that time the animal had no strength left and fell on the man with all his weight.Amazing! But the rescuer succeeded, he dragged the bear to the shore and got only one scratch.
It took a tractor with a bucket to bring the unconscious bear home to the nature reserve. The bear still lives in the nature reserve, but I don’t think he’ll come near the water anymore.
The rescuer’s act is pure heroism, because he wasn’t even scared and did his job, he saved another life.
