This story happened in the summer of 2007 aboard a Japanese airline plane. Alan Medina Gonzalez was flying from Mexico to Tokyo and was definitely bored. To pass the time on the flight, he decided to take a nap. He fell asleep, but didn’t stay awake long, because of the jolting motion of the plane through the turbulence zone.
Who would have thought that this sudden awakening would be the beginning of a truly mysterious story… Waking up, Alan looked out the window and saw a strange island. Taking his camera, he took a picture of the landscape that caught his eye. Luckily he had bought high-resolution optics, allowing him to see the details of the pictures.
The picture turned out really well. Alan enlarged the picture and tried to see the island closer. It looked like a normal island, the coast of which was covered with snow-white sand, but on one of the beaches someone had laid a distress signal. He called the stewardess, who immediately passed the picture to the captain. The pilot reported the finding to the dispatcher of the nearest airfield.
A short time later, the plane was dispatched to the indicated coordinates, which confirmed what was seen in the photograph. Rescuers were immediately sent to the island by boat. When they arrived, they found words made of stones asking for help and a search began. A few hours later, the searchers came across small wooden figures, which led to the body of the man who had passed away. His identity has still not been established.
The man had not been reported missing and had no documents. But found a lot of figurines made of wood. Apparently, the inhabitant of the island was trying to occupy himself this way.
More traces of human presence on the island was not found. The inhabitant of the island seemed to live alone. How he got here, how he was able to lay out the inscription, and who he was – these questions are still unanswered by Japanese police and local residents.
