Leslie was born and raised in Iowa in the western United States. Always cheerful and lively, she never told her parents why she didn’t like wearing skirts and preferred short haircuts.
But when Leslie turned 11, she wrote a letter to her mother describing her feelings in great detail. She asked for permission to change her gender and hoped for the support of those closest to her.
The mischievous girl always found common ground with the neighborhood boys.
They took her for “their own,” allowing her to play with them. Leslie’s mother believed that it was because of communication with them that her daughter preferred to wear T-shirts and jeans, so as not to stand out in bright outfits against the background of her friends.
Mrs. Barrett didn’t find out that Leslie was actually feeling like a boy until 2011, when she read an unusual letter her daughter had written to her.
Preparations for the transition took quite some time. The process began in 2012 and wasn’t completed until 2018, when Leslie turned 18.
Leslie decided not to change her name, as it was a good fit for a boyfriend as well. Besides, she has always liked comedy actor Leslie Nielsen, whose peak of popularity, however, passed before she was born.
Now Leslie is 21 years old, of which almost 3 – she lives entirely in a male guise. She’s confident that now, by becoming on the outside what she’s always thought she was on the inside, she’s sure to succeed in any endeavor she undertakes!
In the meantime, she (or rather, he) plays sports, loves computer games, and in the evenings, apparently out of habit, often helps her mother in the kitchen with dinner.
