It took a boy named Reilly nine years before he got his first haircut. His hair had grown to almost half a meter in length over the course of his life!
He just preferred to always have long hair, the boy’s mother said. Reilly was inspired by soccer player Gareth Bale, who also has long hair.
His parents didn’t talk him into cutting his hair and told him it was his choice, so he didn’t do it. He made that choice at the age of 9, despite a lot of worry.
Incidentally, he donated his amputated ponytail to a company that makes wigs for children with cancer. As Reilly later said, the TV show for sick kids played a crucial role in determining his haircut style.
He decided to donate his hair to a worthy cause. His son’s act really touched his parents, and they are very proud of him.
