It is usually believed that people choose their own pets, but sometimes the opposite happens – the first step to acquaintance is made by the animal, which for some reason determines its new owner. So, a stray dog from the Brazilian city of Vila Velha did what no one expected – it became a guest at the wedding of Douglas Robert and Timiris Muzini, and it changed its fate.
At first the dog lay peacefully near the church, and when the bride got out of the car, he got up and followed her. People wanted to chase the dog away, but Timiris said that the dog also had the right to be part of the ceremony, and since dogs are loved in Brazil, there was no objection to the presence of a four-legged guest in the church premises.
The dog escorted the bride down the aisle as if he were her father, and then took his position near the exit, although the door was open, the four-legged guest remained on the doorstep for the rest of the ceremony. He took a nap, but as the newlyweds made their way out the door, he jumped up and ran over to them, wagging his tail and cuddling.
Douglas and Timiris stroked the dog with smiles, and that touching moment was caught on video.The next day, the girl thought that since the dog was their guest, they should take him in. However, the stray was no longer at the church and no one had seen him around. Then Timiris posted her plea for help on social media, also posting a video.
The video quickly went viral, attracting the attention not only of the public, but also animal advocates and journalists. Information about the search for the “dog from the wedding” went viral in social networks and appeared in the press, so the dog was soon found.
The couple immediately went to the place mentioned and took the dog home, giving him the name Caramelo, according to the color of his fur and his pleasant disposition. Although Caramelo might have spent his whole life on the street, he quickly made friends with the small dog Timiris and there was no problem with him.
So the friendly stray dog found a good home, and the young couple – a new friend, which, they believe, became their family mascot – it’s no accident he showed up at the wedding and played such an important role in their lives.
