There are many cases when people find common ground with wild animals. And each hero of such stories does things differently. Some people tame animals, while others regularly feed and help them as much as they can. And in doing so, a person, getting close to an animal, obviously takes a risk, because the behavior of wild creatures is almost impossible to predict.
This story is about the Norwegian family Kvam, who saved the life of a deer, after which he began to come to their house in the morning and wait when the inhabitants wake up.In Norway, deer meat is considered a delicacy. There are many hunters in this country, and there are even more who want to eat venison. Therefore, deer hunting is commonplace in these parts.
But fate gave one deer a chance. It was wounded by hunters. But there were compassionate people nearby who helped the animal and took him home. The deer, who had always had runny eyes, was named Flippen, which in Russian means Crybaby. He was treated and fed until he was fully recovered, and then released into the wild. But the deer has not forgotten his rescuers, and for the past three years he often visits them.
He comes to the house and waits for treats. One of the rescuers, Mette Kvam, said that from the early morning the animal waits for her under the window, as she is sure she will get her favorite dainty – a piece of bread.According to the woman, the animal looks very beautiful and majestic. It has huge horns – a tasty trophy for the fans of hunting. But hunters already know him and do not harm him.
In winter, the deer comes much more often, because during the warm season it moves away to the mountains. The Kvam family is always happy about their four-legged friend. He does not rampage, behaves modestly and does not fear for his life, understanding that he is under unspoken protection. Local vendors even give Metta free bread so she can give her wild pet a treat.
In the neighborhood, Flippen is a real star. He knows all the locals by sight, but is openly afraid of strangers and tries to avoid the company of strangers.
