Chris Arsenault, who lives in the US, told about his life with 300 cats.
The man said that taking care of them costs him several thousand dollars and takes more than one day. But for Chris it’s not a problem – after the tragic death of his son it was cats that gave the man’s existence meaning.
The New York resident has experienced tragedy a couple of years ago, when his 25-year-old son was killed in an accident. After everything that had happened, Chris felt that his life had now lost all meaning.Salvation came to Chris Arsenault when he least expected it.
He was working as a train conductor at the time when he accidentally noticed thirty little abandoned kittens on the tracks.Chris thought the kittens would die if he didn’t help, so he sheltered them in his apartment. Arsenault later set up a shelter on that base, and over a dozen years later, there are now about three hundred cats living there.
Chris has completely re-equipped his house for the needs of cats: he has created comfortable conditions with hanging beds and warm seats. Moreover, anyone can visit the shelter and take a pet. The owner of the shelter himself has only a small room suitable only for eating and sleeping.
The rest is the cat’s kingdom. The man admits that taking care of so many animals is difficult and even the help of volunteers does not make it very easy. But these difficulties do not embarrass him, because such hard work pays off in full – love and devotion of small fluffy animals.
