Buddy the dog has seen unimaginable cruelty, but the sunshine at the end of the tunnel has finally arrived.
Buddy was found in Mississippi this April and was forced to wear a bandage to treat painful burns.
Now without a bandage, Buddy continues to recover at a veterinary hospital in Mississippi. Now without the blindfold covering his eyes, Buddy can be seen playing with toys and walking around the lobby of the veterinary hospital.
The Tunica Defense Society says that for the first time in months, his personality has completely changed.
The dog’s eyes are usually no longer covered by thick blindfolds. He loves every minute of his life. His whole personality has changed since he saw the sunlight. He is already happy and walks the halls of the hospital with a huge ball in his mouth that he loves to play with.
Because of the burns on his face, Buddy may need eyelid surgery sooner or later. The vet allowed him to rest, but also gave him a day of extra time and exercise.
Buddy performed so well that the vets approved the surgery to neuter him – and it went brilliantly.
He is now being treated for heartworms while continuing his treatment in Mississippi. Along with veterinary and humane support groups, Buddy has gained an endless number of fans online.
The Humane Society has even designed T-shirts with his image on them.
He deserves better after suffering so much. But after all this, Buddy is still the sweetest, most loving dog, and although it will be some time before he is available for adoption, there are already many people interested in this sweet dog.
