Snakes that crawl right into homes are not uncommon in Cambodia. Children love to play with small reptiles. One day, a python crawled into the Sambat family home.
The owner did not kill it and took the snake into the jungle. The next day, the same snake was found in the house again, and it was taken to the forest again. When the same situation happened again the third time, it was decided to keep the python as a pet.
The owner’s son Warne Sambat (only 3 years old at the time) became very friendly with the python named Chamreun. He climbed up and down on him, slept on him, dragged him by the tail. During all this time the snake never once harmed the boy.
Now the python is more than 5 meters long and weighs more than 100 kilograms. If it wanted, the python could easily swallow the boy, but for some reason it does not. The family considers Chamreun their magical spirit, which brings them prosperity and health. And now tourists from all over the world come to see the unusual friendship between the boy and the snake.
