As much as various skeptics may deny it, there are indeed places on our planet where events occur that defy any logical explanation.
This is the case in the village of Yangsy in China for over a hundred years. The average height of the inhabitants of this village is only 80 centimeters. 40% are born already dwarfed, or stop growing at the age of 5.
There are a large number of such people in the village, which is why the village is called – the village of dwarfs. This phenomenon began to be noticed in the 20th century. The height of the tallest dwarf is 117 centimeters, the lowest – 64. Just imagine 40% of the population are dwarfs, isn’t that strange?
There are too many of them to write it off as an oddity. Scientists have been racking their brains for over fifty years. They sampled water, soil, grain, but no abnormalities were detected. Completely studied the body of local residents affected by this insidious disease, but no results.
And meanwhile, the number of dwarf people is increasing every year. There were several versions of this anomaly. The first was a high concentration of mercury in the soil. But scientists have not officially confirmed this version. The second was a toxic gas once used by the Japanese when they invaded China. But this version failed as well. Firstly, because the Japanese were not even close to the village of Jansa, and secondly, in other areas where they were, such anomalies are not detected.
Local residents are inclined to believe that evil spirits have worked here. There are versions that it is the spirits of dead people who are not buried properly. Others believe that the man Wang is to blame. According to legend, he found an unusual turtle with strange legs, killed and ate it, and should have let it go. The locals themselves say that their happy life was cut short one summer night. When the affliction came upon their village. On that night, children as young as 5 stopped growing, and other illnesses fell upon some. Although in our opinion, how can the fact that the children stopped growing at night be recorded!
Tourists are not allowed to enter this village, it is closed, so there are not many pictures of the inhabitants of the dwarf village on the Internet. In principle, there is nothing unusual about the dwarfs, except, of course, their number.
Some people try to leave this village, so as not to become a victim of this disease.
By the way, in the south of China there is another village of dwarves. But there, except for the dwarfs, no one has the right to live.
The maximum height with which you can get there – 130 centimeters. In this village everything is equipped for the local population: small houses, small cars, low furniture…
Tourists are allowed to visit this place. The dwarfs put on special costume shows for travelers, thereby earning a living. Since they are not taken anywhere with their height, that’s why sometimes they have to risk their lives to feed their families.
In general, scientists to this day are trying to find the mystery of this mass dwarfism, but so far there are no results and we can only guess what happened in this village many years ago.
