Who knew “monster” and “chocolate chip cookie” would disagree with such nicknames from her classmates and apply for the Miss Universe pageant.
Evita was offered surgery to remove her birthmarks, but she refused because she was afraid of the consequences. The 26 year old’s name is Evita Patsy Edgar Delmundo, and she lives in Borneo, Malaysia, and suffers from a rare condition that doctors have never found out the cause of.
Her entire body is covered with birthmarks of different sizes. The girl wanted to remove the moles, but doctors said that the complicated surgery could affect her health. At 16, Evita decided to accept her appearance and not pay attention to mockery of others.In her not-so-long years, the poor girl had time to feel what it was like to be different…
“In elementary school, no one wanted to be friends with me. It broke my heart. I was a lonely girl,” said Evita Delmundo.Classmates often called the girl a “monster” or “chocolate chip cookie.” Evita’s face and body have many dark birthmarks, and I learned to accept myself for who I am after going to church camp at age 16,” she said.
Now Evita works in a local coffee shop and wants very much to prove to the world that she’s “normal”! That’s why Evita nominated herself for the pageant…Miss Universe! It was probably the first time I really started to embrace the way I look!” In 2017, Evita applied for the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant.
She made it through several stages of the casting, but failed to make the finals.I learned to get along with my moles and love myself. I gradually gained confidence to be able to demonstrate my uniqueness,” she shared.
