She says that one of the secrets of staying fit at her age is to avoid men and marriage. In addition, she says, a balanced diet and regular exercise are important.
However, her younger sister is now 102 years old. So marriage may have nothing to do with the advanced age of these two ladies.Last month she celebrated her birthday with more than 100 friends and relatives.The Bronx, New York, woman joked, “I’m tired of partying.”Louise has also experienced several setbacks in recent years. She is visually impaired, recently suffered pneumonia, and was mugged at age 103. Nevertheless, she has maintained good spirits.
When asked how she manages to live a long and healthy life, Louise answers: “If they make us do exercise, I do it. If they organize a dance, I dance,” she adds, “Italian food. Italian food is very good for you. I grew up on really good food. No fizzy drinks. No pies.”Japan’s Kane Tanaka, at 119, is the oldest person in the world. Louise, born three months after the Titanic sank, is still a few years old.
