Did you know that cats and horses can become close friends? It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. After all, cats refer to predatory animals, and the horse can often become prey, yet they can reach out to each other as two opposites. Cats do not like dogs because of their assertive nature, and the horse to them appears as a calm animal. For a horse, a cat is attractive because it poses no threat.Jen’s parents kept a stable, so she spent her whole life with horses. Jen had a pet of her own that she loved to spend time with, watching him, looking into his intelligent and kind eyes with long lashes. His name was Palmer. It never occurred to her to get another pet.
Soon, however, a little black kitten about 5 or 6 months old started coming to the stable. Before that Jen had never seen other cats around, they were shy and afraid of horses. This kitten was scared too, but kept coming every day, staying longer each time. Jen felt sorry for him, and she began to feed him.The fluffy cat was named Morris, he quickly got used to it and was affectionate and grateful. Jen soon noticed that the cat liked to walk near her favorite horse. She was a little worried about Morris, in case Palmer inadvertently stepped on him, but he, on the contrary, showed curiosity and no aggression.
As the cat approached him, Palmer tilted his head toward him and sniffed softly, as if he didn’t want to frighten him away. Soon Jan noticed Morris walking around Palmer’s feet and rubbing his muzzle against it. And then suddenly jumped up abruptly and jumped on the horse. From then on they began to walk together. The cat would sit on horseback, and Palmer would ride Morris carefully, as if afraid to drop him. Many people say that horses and cats do not show love, in fact, this is not true. It has been proven that one of the ways horses show love is by sniffing. Palmer always greeted Morris by running his huge nostrils over his muzzle and fluffy body.Morris and Palmer are always together, they have become an inseparable couple. Though they do not play together actively, they have a quiet, serene affection for each other.
