Buying a new home in California, the couple had no idea the place would have a surprise. The couple found a small door in one of their rooms that led to a tiny room. That’s when they decided to turn the room into a “secret hideaway” for their young son.
The Gehrs had been dreaming of having their own house for a long time, and when they saw a suitable offer, they bought it immediately. The family completed the paperwork and moved into their new home with their baby in their arms and began the renovation.
In the course of it, and found a small door behind the dresser in the nursery, which hid a small but cozy attic. The condition of the room was deplorable: the linoleum had rotted away, and the wooden planking of the walls was sagging.
After a brief meeting, the parents barricaded the room and would not tell their son about it.
Two years later the couple finally came to the conclusion that something needed to be done about the room. That’s when this wonderful idea was born! It was decided to give the keys to the room to their son on his fourth birthday.
At first the boy was surprised when he opened the door, but then he got delighted and began to explore opened space enchanted.
The gift turned out to be really unusual. Every child probably dreams of a room to hide and play in. It has become the ideal place for our child to read books, draw and study.
Sarah photographed the wonderful room and posted it on the Internet. The publication received a lot of positive feedback, and the parents themselves were praised by network users for their resourcefulness and creativity.
