What would you do if you were walking your dog and he accidentally slipped out of his collar? Would you let it go? Or would you try to catch it? If your answer is to let him go, good for you! But if your answer is “try to catch him,” then we have a story for you.A woman named Maria recently got herself a 5-month-old puppy named Bear. It turns out that Bear is no ordinary puppy: he is a trained therapy dog that helps with epileptic seizures and calls for help when needed. He was trained by Maria for her son, who has epilepsy.
Recently, the owner went to the pet store with her dog to get him a smaller collar.Bear was walking with his owner with a new collar that was too big for him, so he slipped out of it as they were walking and threw himself into the Hudson River! Without thinking long, the dog jumped into the water and began to swim away from his mistress as fast as he could: which resulted in Bear ending up 30 blocks away from where he and his mistress had begun their journey!
Fortunately for both of them, locals called 911 when they heard Bear barking under the pier where he was hiding, trying to stay safe (and probably realizing how stupid his escape was).
A large fireboat arrived to rescue the dog. The firefighters were able to get the dog out and take him to the vets. The dog is now safe!
