This guy’s name is Cornelius Anderson. Until 2000, Cornelius was something of a bad guy. In 1999, when Cornelius was 23 years old, he was arrested for armed robbery at Burger King.
He was sentenced to 13 years in prison. While the guy was out on bail, Cornelius and his lawyer tried to reduce his prison sentence by sending appeals to a judge.
After all appeals were denied, the lawyer told the man to wait at home for his arrest. But no one arrested him. Cornelius sat at home and waited to be taken to jail for days, weeks, then months and years. He decided to turn his life around.
The guy severed all ties with old friends, started developing his own construction business and got married. The man had three children, and within a certain community Cornelius was an active participant.
Everyone who got to know Cornelius after 2000 thought he was a great guy. But in 2013, 13 years after his conviction, authorities realized what had happened and arrested the man.
When it turned out that Cornelius had dramatically changed his life, the government said, “Our fault, you’re free to go.”
