Upon visiting their home in October 2003, Carlyle realized something was wrong. According to The Blade, Carlisle saw terrible things. He found that the children were living in a cage and that they were being abused.Carlisle told his employer how concerned he was, but nothing was done. It wasn’t until two years later that the police took action. He never forgot anything.
Eventually the family was convicted, thanks in part to Carlisle’s testimony, and the children were placed in foster care.In 2017, Simon and Ebba, two of the eleven abused children, told their story on a television show.
Simon and Ebba talked about Carlisle, the man who helped save them from their nightmare, and were incredibly grateful to him. They wished that one day they could have the opportunity to hug him tightly and thank him in person if they ever met him.
