A British woman named Lorna Goodings never knew about her condition.
She was pregnant and didn’t know it, even though she hadn’t planned the pregnancy and it had never been part of her plans. Obstetricians and gynecologists say this is a rare case in history.
In 2020, she gave birth to her first daughter and named her Vivienne, after which she decided to get a birth control implant, which produces a chemical that suppresses ovulation called etonogestrel.
But as the days went by, she began to suffer from sudden bloating in her stomach, gained weight, and vomited frequently. She didn’t even know about it.
She was sure it wasn’t pregnancy.
She thought it was just a side effect, so she didn’t give it much thought, but she had to see a doctor.
The doctor said it was due to water retention in the body caused by the implant. She followed all the doctor’s recommendations, started to lose weight and took long walks.
But all was to no avail, because the weight was not coming off, and the strange sensations did not stop. Her sensations were not the same as during her first pregnancy, and she didn’t think about it at all.
She agreed with her lover, Nick, to go with him to a party with friends, despite the pain and her bad condition. There she got worse and worse, and at one of the parties she called an ambulance.
Doctors told Lorna that she was already in labor and that her water had already begun to break after being examined at the hospital.Four hours after being admitted to the hospital, Lorna gave birth to another healthy baby girl named Daphne. So, on August 1, 2021, there was this unexpected event that still remains a mystery to doctors.
