Today’s story is about Diesel the cat who was with his family for 20 years, but ended up in a shelter for homeless animals.Diesel was at a loss as to why he was there, there was emptiness and disappointment in his eyes.
And he ended up there because his owners divorced and could not share who he would live with. One day a volunteer, Tracy Peddy, arrives at the shelter. After learning Diesel’s story, she wanted to help him. She posted Diesel’s story on Facebook, hoping that someone would respond and give this sweet cat some love and care.
The next day Tracy receives a message from a woman named Tais Tomato, who once took in two cats from the shelter where Diesel is now. The message read ” Hello, Diesel’s story makes me very sad. But I have wanted to take in the oldest cat from the shelter for so long that I can give him the care and love that they so badly need. I will try to heal his heartache so he will never feel abandoned,” wrote Tice Tomato.
The next morning, Tais Tomato came to pick up Diesel. When Diesel was released from his cage to meet his new owner, he was certainly not happy about the meeting. But Theis understood everything and was not upset, she slowly took Diesel in her arms and put him in a carrier.
When they were at home, Diesel at once hid in the most secluded place and the whole day did not go out from there. And in the morning when Tice went to the kitchen to make breakfast, Diesel came up to her and looked at her with a look as if he said to her “I really want to trust you, I hope you will never leave me. Tice hugged Diesel and told him everything was going to be okay and then called him to eat.
Diesel’s appearance was not normal, his fur was all tangled in tangles. Tice couldn’t bear to look at it and took Diesel to the vet, where they cleaned him up. First they bathed him, and then cut his hair as short as possible to grow a new coat, nice and fluffy.
At home with Tais lived two kittens, who were very happy to have a new friend in the house. Thanks to their support, Diesel adapted more quickly to his new home and new mistress. He felt very well in his new home, he felt loved and valued.
