Six years ago this story hit the world and the photo of a boy wandering the streets in search of food made its rounds: Fortunately, there are kind people in the world and our story has a happy ending as the boy was successfully treated.
How it all began
The boy was born in Nigeria. As fate would have it, when Hope was two years old, his parents abandoned him. The reason they decided to get rid of the child had nothing to do with the family’s financial situation, nor with any of the boy’s rare illnesses…
The ancestors only thought their son was a sorcerer. Nigerians are superstitious people, so parents Hope thought that in their son possessed the unclean force.And noticed wandering the streets of the boy known Dane – the founder of a large charity organization, Anna Lowen. A woman who, together with her husband David saved more than a dozen human lives.
Hope was first sent to the hospital, where he was given all the necessary examinations and prescribed treatment.
Hope was in a terrible condition when we rescued him. He was malnourished and had many illnesses. He was in critical condition for the first two weeks of hospitalization. We didn’t know if he would survive or not,” said Anna.Then he was transferred to the Land of Hope Children’s Center, which Anna Loven founded back in 2012.
After the boy’s photo appeared on the Internet, thousands of concerned people began to follow his fate.
Fortunately, he was recovering before their eyes. In just a few months, he had chubby cheeks and noticeably put on weight, almost indistinguishable from other children.Anna continues to follow Hope’s fate today, and he calls her Mom.
Today the boy is 10 years old. He studies well, and most of all he likes to draw.
Surprisingly, but he does not hold a grudge against his parents, and in the future, like Lowen dreams of organizing a charitable foundation to help those in need.
