Garlic is one of the ingredients that is in almost every kitchen. This little tuber can do wonders in most dishes and is also very healthy and heart-healthy. We’ve all seen how hard it is to peel garlic. It’s a time-consuming task for such a small clove. The thin skins fly off in all directions, and the garlic often gets stuck under your fingernails. Not to mention the fact that your fingers smell like…garlic afterwards.
But did you know that there is a very easy way to peel a garlic clove in one second without getting too mad? Some would say, yes, in a glass container and by shaking. Yes, but you have to wash the container and remove all the skins to do so.
Twitter user Valentina Pestilen posted a video of her peeling garlic a few days ago. The trick is great! All you need is a knife and a flick of the wrist. Gently insert the tip of the knife into the clove, twist, and the clove comes out completely!
First of all, this is particularly impressive. It’s also a little frustrating because you wish you had known it was that easy! Maybe it’s a grandmother’s trick that’s been forgotten?
